  • Hood cut out for intake manifold. Factory Screw Up????? Confused?

So why is it the elite model no longer has the hood intake cutout but the ARC does. Specifically the advance run Camaro's from Daytona? This has always been the other way around. Which tells me the factory is doing this. Can it be fixed where the Elites have the intake cutout like that have always had for several years?

Top image is a collectors series (ARC), I assume the advanced run flown in for Daytona. Also why is it only the Camaro have the intake cutout and no other manufacturer ARC or Elite? Bottom is a 2018 Elite.

I have asked production for clarification. I wasn't aware of this change and honestly missed it on the #1's we posted online already.

Elite = ARC now. everything that made an Elite is pretty much gone.

False. ARC's last year did not have the engine detail or the roof antennas that the Elites still have. Whether the changes and price points are acceptable to you is up to you as the buyer, but the claim that these are ARC's marked up is a false claim.

Unnecessary, I was asking Lionel for clarity on why the camaros have the hood cutout in the advance run arc, but the full elite no longer does. Your comment has no bearing and was of no help so please keep your comments to the discussion area and out of my request for informarion.

Thank you for looking into it. Waiting to hear what the reasoning is.

Back to the question at hand.

I talked with production and this was a mistake. Camaro was a new tool so they made the hood tool for ARC and ELITE to have the opening. It will be open on the ELITE and ARC Camaro at all times. The Toyota and Ford is a little different story. The ELITE hood was scraped and should not have been, so the factory is going to fix the tool on the Toyota and Ford and both ARC and ELITE will come with an opening but it will be much later in the year after the factory corrects the tool. Thank you for notifying us as we all missed this on the first round of #1's I got! Again, just to recap Camaro ARC and ELITE will have the opening for the intake. Ford and Toyota will be a black painted section for now. (The Kevin Harvick car was actually a mistake in art and was missing the painted section for the factory to do). Ford and Toyota tool will be updated to have an opening at the intake and will be released later this year as it is corrected but will be on ELITE and ARC.
